In the first quarter of 2025, the supply and progressive commissioning of PALVI’s DULE System® automatic bilateral system began in the municipality of Benalmádena (Málaga).
The deployed units feature the latest-generation ALPA12-DG (Dual Grab) robotic manipulator. This single-operator, stable, fast, and innovative system is designed for the fully automatic collection of top-hook (mushroom-style) waste containers. It is also fully compatible with the new underground containers being installed in the municipality. Equipped with all the necessary elements to collect the container, the system automatically corrects deviations if the truck is not perfectly aligned or parallel to the container. It also automatically adjusts for gradients—both longitudinal and perpendicular to the vehicle—lifting, emptying, and returning the container to its exact original position.
The system is engineered to minimize collection times. Its high technology and innovation provide the DULE System® bilateral body with safe and reliable operation, achieving the highest quality standards in service.
The equipment manufactured by PALVI was supplied through the joint venture (UTE) formed by F.C.C. MEDIO AMBIENTE, S.A.U. and FCC EQUAL CEE ANDALUCIA, S.L., which was previously awarded the contract for the "Solid Urban Waste (MSW) collection and transport service, street cleaning, and civic amenity site management for the municipality of Benalmádena."
To provide the bilateral load collection service, the new contract included the acquisition of complete automatic bilateral system collectors for the city's underground containers. This resulted in the purchase of 4 bodies mounted on IVECO S-WAY AD260S34Y/PS three-axle chassis (340 hp, 6x2 rear-steering, 4,500 mm wheelbase, and 26-tonne GVW). These units are fully integrated technically to ensure coordination and functionality between all components, as detailed below:
• 4 ALPA12-DG robotic manipulators: Latest-generation units designed with cutting-edge technology, allowing for the operation of both surface and underground containers on the same route, compatible with the two main mushroom-link types on the market: Kinshofer and F-90.
• 4 OPTIMA 22S51 hooklifts: Robust and functional units built under the strictest quality standards, featuring an interchangeable system that allows for maximum flexibility.
• 4 CMS-20-DS interchangeable collectors: Reliable and powerful, offering the perfect technical combination for high-demand, high-speed waste compaction.
• 1 ARCALIS interchangeable container washer: For both internal and external cleaning of containers.
Additionally, a total of 24 waste mobile compactors will be supplied during the first half of the year to serve hotels and public centers in Benalmádena. This auxiliary machinery is locally manufactured at our production center in Las Cabezas de San Juan (Seville).
With this new implementation of the DULE System® in such a key area of southern Spain, PALVI continues to strengthen its position in the national market. Entirely developed and manufactured in Agramunt (Lleida), this single-operator automatic system contributes to improving waste collection conditions and increasing satisfaction for operators and citizens alike.
